Fasting Until Dinner?
Despite the fact that many fitness blogs talk about intermittent fasting and ‘fasting up until Christmas dinner’… I don’t recommend it. The last thing you want to do is restrict during the day, only to then condition your mind to go completely overboard when there is more food available. Especially if you struggle with overeating, restricting yourself more is not going to help afterwards!
There are exceptions to this rule – as with any generalization out there. You will instinctively know if this is something that applies to you or not.
What You Can Do Instead
- Eat 3-4 normal sized meals over the course of a day (no snacking)
- Add fiber and protein to every meal
- Drink lots of water
- Watch your hunger to prevent from unnecessarily snacking
