Launching VS Passive Income: Which One Is Right For You? The Fail to Win Podcast Episode 205

October 17, 2023 By fastforwardamy Leave a Comment

Some people are raving about launching, others prefer passive income. Maybe you're growing your own business and you don't know which path is the right path for you. The truth is: both are very valuable for your business, but serve different purposes. That's why I'll talk you through the benefits of both so you can pick the option that suits you and your business best. To decide which one is best for you, we’ll go over 4 pillars that you have to take into account when deciding.

Let’s get into it: launching versus passive income — which one is best for you?

1. Cashflow

The biggest difference between passive income and launches is the cashflow they bring in. While passive income mostly generates a similar amount of money every single month, launching generates a big cash injection at once that creates a big financial buffer.

So, do you want to create a money buffer or bring in the big bucks immediately? Then launching will be your answer. If you’re fine with receiving a steadier income over time, then building a funnel might be up your alley.

2. Workload

What kind of workload are you prepared to perform? Because there’s quite a difference between launching versus passive income.

Launching is a lot of work, but easy to repeat once you know what works.

Passive income is not as passive as you might think either because setting it up is time-consuming and you have to optimize as you go.

That’s where I come in and say: if you think passive income is actually passive, you’ll be sadly mistaken.

3. Longevity

Decide when you want to receive the cashflow. If you’re in dire need of money right NOW, then launching will be the way to go. Because launching has a big impact short term (a lot of money NOW).

While passive income is a long-term thing. You won't see immediate results. So, if you want to make money in a year while you’re lounging in the Bahamas, then you should start creating your funnel now so that in a year it’s converting.

Of course, you can do both, but a high-intensity launch can’t be done properly while you’re also setting up a funnel.

Take the time to think on that for yourself and then decide which way you want to go.

4. In which phase are you?

If you’re just starting out, then I’d recommend getting started on launching over setting up a passive income.

Because at the very start, your goal should be to get as many eyeballs as you can on your business. Launching also gives you the opportunity to receive and implement the live feedback you’re getting.

Passive income, on the other hand, is the best choice if you’ve been building your business for a while and you’re ready for growth.

Choose your fighter: launching versus passive income

If you haven’t done either of the two, take a moment to look at the 4 pillars:

  1. Cashflow
  2. Workload
  3. Longevity
  4. The phase of your business

And decide based on these four which one is best for you. The conclusion is you need both in your business and they go hand in hand. They both provide stability for your business and they both allow you to work less.

However, launching brings in bigger amounts of money in a short amount of time, which is really good in a business landscape where cash is king. These cash injections allow you to grow faster, make bigger investments,…

That's why I would recommend starting with launching and optimizing your launches, so you can take your learnings and apply them to your evergreen funnels (aka passive income).

If you want to learn how you can create those big cash injections for your business thanks to launching, I invite you to my free webinar: “5 Secrets to Triple Your Launch Results”.
