Let’s keep it real. Most people overcomplicate how to make money online. Which is why they never end up making said money.
They think they need a perfect website, a huge audience, or a fully built professional course before they can earn a single euro. That’s false. You can absolutely start making money online this month (even this week) with the right strategy and mindset.
I’ve built my online brand from scratch, and I’ve helped thousands of entrepreneurs do the same. In this post, I’ll walk you through the 3 easiest and lowest-risk ways to start making €1K a month online, based on what’s working today.
None of this is fluffy theory. These are strategies I’ve used and taught. They work. Let’s go.
Why €1K a Month?
€1K might not sound like much to some people, but it’s a game-changer for most. That amount can cover rent, give you more breathing room, or help you finally quit a job or client you hate.
It’s not about getting rich overnight. It’s about building your first win, and building confidence and momentum that compounds over time.
1. Affiliate Marketing: Promote What You Love
Affiliate marketing is one of the lowest-risk ways to earn online income, especially if you don’t want to create a product yourself (yet).
Here’s how it works:
You promote a product you love, and when someone buys through your link, you earn a commission.
Simple.
Why it works:
- No need to handle payments or customer service
- You can get started with a small following
- It fits into your existing content easily (stories, blog, Reels)
Real Talk: The Math Behind It
Most standard public affiliate programs pay between 2% and 10%. If you want to earn €1,000 with a 5% commission, that means you need to generate around €20,000 in sales through your links.
If you’re promoting bigger-ticket items or consistently posting valuable content, this can add up nicely. If you’re promoting small items and don’t have a huge following… don’t expect any magic here.
Watch Out For:
This is not my favorite option to get started online. Affiliate revenue depends on other people’s rules. I’ve been cut off from recurring commissions before because platforms changed their policies without warning. This is why I never rely on affiliate marketing alone, but it could be a fun way for you to get started experimenting online.
2. Ad Revenue: Make Money From Views
This is the strategy most people dream about — making money just from people watching your content.
Think YouTube videos or blog posts that generate consistent traffic.
Why it works:
- It’s scalable
- Once your content is up, it keeps earning
- You don’t need to sell anything directly
The Reality:
This isn’t exact math, but let’s say to earn €1,000 a month purely from ads, you often need 100,000 to 1 million views a month, depending on your niche and platform. That might not be quick, but it’s definitely possible.
There are also newer strategies like cash cow YouTube channels, where creators build faceless content with voiceovers and automation.
This route takes skill, but if you’re a content creator at heart, it’s worth considering.
Honestly though? If you’re creating content anyways, I will always advocate betting on yourself and selling your own products. That’s why option n3 is my personal favorite!
3. Digital Products: My Personal Favorite
If you know me, you know I love digital products.
Why? Because they’re high profit, scalable, and you get to own the entire process.
And here’s the secret most people miss, you can sell new products before you’ve created them.
I’ve sold out digital products and launched €160K+ worth of revenue before building the actual course content. How? Pre-selling.
Why it works:
- You validate your idea in real time
- You get paid to create
- You get customer feedback that makes your offer even better
Let’s say you want to hit €1K. You could sell a €50 product and just need 20 buyers. That’s way more achievable for a beginner with a small audience than trying to chase 100,000 video views or €20K in affiliate sales.
Start by offering a mini-training, challenge, template pack or ebook. Use your social media and email list to invite people in, and sell it as a preorder.
Then deliver it once you’ve got interest and momentum.
So, Which One Should You Start With?
It’s fully up to you, but here’s what I would do if I had to start over:
- Bet on yourself and start pre-selling digital products as you grow your audience
- Layer in affiliate marketing in your products, lead magnets and content once the opportunities are aligned with what you’re putting out
- Use ad revenue as a longer-term strategy once your content gains traction on big channels like YouTube
Either way: start simple. Pick one. Go all in for 30 days. Track your results. Adjust. Repeat.
You don’t need a team, a difficult funnel, or a perfect product. You just need to start and learn as you go.
