Set up your Account in ConvertKit and Discover Your Dashboard [ConvertKit Basics Part 1]

ConvertKit is a great value for money provider, making it easy to offer different downloads (lead magnets) to your audience so you can build an audience faster than ever.
ConvertKit is easy to use and gives you a good overview of all your subscribers. Another advantage of this system: when someone opts-in multiple times, the person will be in your list only once.

Set up a new account

• choose ‘Migrating from another provider’ or ‘I’m brand new’.

Choose ‘Migrating from another provider’ if you want to recover your former email addresses. When you start from scratch, choose ‘I’m brand new’.

If you are migrating from Mailchimp for example, ConvertKit will guide you through these steps easily!

• In this phase of the tutorial I will pick ‘I don’t have a website yet’. Sign up and get started!

ConvertKit has its own steps. Instead of following these steps I’m going to walk you through some stuff myself.

Get to know the system

Subscribers:

Here you can see your subscribers, you can create tags, segments etc.

Automations:

You can use automations to connect multiple triggers or events to forms, sequences or whatever you want.

Forms:

This is really important when you start gathering your email addresses.

Sequences:

This would be evergreen content, meaning you can create those and have them being sent out the entire time.

It’s a really good practice to connect a new subscriber immediately to an onboarding sequence so that they immediately get a couple emails of you.

Broadcasts:

This are the one-off emails you can send out. You can plan them in or create drafts. These are your newsletters.

Now you can start gathering emails through landing pages!
